Here's one more made-up flashback. From my point of view, the moment, when in Orochimary's laboratory, after he left Konoha, they found those kids, left after his experiment, was a kind of a threshold for both Sarutobi and Jiraiya. It seemes appropriate for me, that they were the people who did most of work in cleaning up Orochimaru's old lair. And I think that finding these murdered children was the point, after which they made their final decision about Orochimaru...
Characters (c) M.Kishimoto
UPD: Yes, this is "the boy who lived"(c) - small Tenzou (Yamato).
Wonderful picture and concept. I agree, I can definitely see that being the "point of no return" as far as Sarutobi and Jiraiya were concerned. And Tenzou looks so sad and almost empty, as I imagine such a poor child should at that point. And yet you can still easily identify him. three thumbs up!
Thank you! I thought that I've seen somewhere, that he was 6 years old, but I don't remember, where... I'll try to find out. Alyway, in manga, where the experiment is shown, the kids are not too small, they look like 5-7, to my mind.
Aaaawwww, Tenzou is ADORABLE!!! XD This is pretty much how I imagined it too; Jiraiya finding him. ^-^

Urahaha: Nice fleeing!
Ichigo: Oh shove it! It's a defensive strategy!
(from Bleach)
I've thought about that for a long time. But I think Yamato was younger when Orochimaru left his lab... but no one knows x)
