HP: Mad-Eye Moody by Umaken HP: Mad-Eye Moody by Umaken
“He lowered his hood, shook out a long mane of grizzled, dark grey hair (...) Every inch of skin seemed to be scarred. The mouth looked like a diagonal gash, and a large chunk of nose was missing. But it was the man’s eyes that made him frightening.” J.K.Rowling, "HP And The Goblet of Fire"

:iconsanzo-sinclaire: had motivated me to upload here a VERY old HP-illustration of mine :)
I have chosen the pencil version not only because I like it better, but also to please a pencil-fan *sanzo-sinclaire :D

Now to the picture. I mostly liked the movies based upon the books, but several things I disapprove. The appearance of Alastor Moody is one of them. The image, created in movies, have nothing to do with the text I quoted. He had long dark-grey hair (not blond), his face was all heavily scarred, and he was _frightening_, not funny...

So I have drawn my own version of him :D

Oh, finally I have found an art of Mad-Eye Moody, that bears resemblance to in-book and in-my-head look of him! Nicely done!

 Rickman is great.

And I guess Snape could be about 35 at the begining - the same age as Harry's parents. At least he SHOULD look the same age as Sirius and Lupin...

I think it was the tip of the nose that was missing, but other than that, really accurate portrayal of him, real Moody is a freakin' mess, not a cool old guy with a funny eye-patch.

Maybe you're right about the end of the nose. I don't know why I imagined it like this :)

Just like how Sirus was supposed to be like a father to harry, and the last freaking quest DID NOT INVOLVE (CENSORED)ING FOG! Oh, it's foggy in the maze, how can we ever face it with our magical powers?!

They were better in the books. The books were better than the movies, but a bit of it was the dirrector's fault. Like trying to make it good enough for both Kids and Adults.

Which is sad. I did like the first two movies, which were just as good as the books, but they kind of gone down hill from there.

When reading the book I imagined Moody as scary as this :) only the face was more round in my mind, but the impression is the same ^^ too bad they have changed his appearance in the movie :O (I haven't seen it)

Wow !! This is amazing ... I mean not the way he looks like because he's very scary but all details you put there !! Really great. I'm really happy your friend motivated you to upload this pic ! I fits better the description of J. K. Rowling than the actor they chose for the movie. Excellent job !

Well... I liked the first three books very much, the fourth was also very interecting to me. The fifth was not interesting, the sixth I have read only because I wanted to know how the saga will end. The seventh was - well - not as bad as I feared :) I liked some things about it.

So I can't say that I'm a fan - though, I did read all of them :)

Moody would be one of my favorite, if he had more appearences in books. "Constant vigilance" has long been my device :) :) :) And the book is written in a way, that leaves very small chance to avoid liking Snape :)

Hmm, believe it or not, I was not so impressed by Snape's story. Maybe because I was too spoiled about the story or I had suspected it, I wasn't moved at his death. Whereas, I cried so much for Itachi. Many fans say there are many similarities between them. Something like this! [link] :)

I was sad about Moody's death. So quickly, in just one line they announce his death and they move on. Too many deaths in the 7th book...
